The Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa is one of the most accessible routes to work in Japan. Here is what it requires on the language side.
Japanese language requirement
You must pass either the JFT-Basic (Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese) or JLPT N4, plus a sector skills test.
Eligible sectors
- Nursing care
- Food service & food manufacturing
- Construction and building cleaning
- Agriculture and fishery
- Machine parts, industrial machinery, electronics
How to prepare
Focus on practical, everyday Japanese for the workplace, then take the JFT-Basic or JLPT N4. LingualSync prepares learners for both tests with conversation-first training. Ask about SSW preparation.
